Alev Ebuzziya Siesbye is a ceramic artist renowned for her striking single coloured stoneware bowls.
Siesbye was born in Istanbul and originally studied sculpture at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts. After studying in Germany for a time in a ceramics factory, she later moved to Denmark to work as an artist for Royal Copenhagen. She is most known for her minimalist aesthetic, making bowls and vessels in simple forms with single coloured glazes in striking blues and other bright hues.
Significant retrospective exhibitions of her works have been held in Turkey and Denmark, and her works are held in a number of public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Paris.
