Jim Malone

(British b.1946)

Jim Malone has been making ceramics for over 50 years, initially studying in London, and then moved to North Wales and later Cumbria where he works from today. He works predominantly in stoneware, and sometimes in porcelain, and uses wood ash and other local materials to make up his glazes. His pots are inspired by his surroundings, and by his interest in Korean and Chinese ceramic traditions as well as medieval English ceramics. His works are held in public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
