Nicholas Arroyave-Portela

(British b.1972)

Nicholas was born in Oxford in 1972 and spent the first 20 years of his professional practice in London. He now lives and works from Barcelona, Spain where he works predominantly on the wheel before manipulating the form of his pieces. He uses porcelain slips and spray glazes to enhance the undulating forms and surface textures within his work.

His work is held in public and private collections in the UK and the USA including The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge
